We continue to revisit the work of some of the infographic designers already featured here on Visual Loop, over a year ago. Today, we’ll show you some of the breaking news graphics our friend Marco Giannini has been producing lately for the Italian newspaper La Repubblica.
This particular type of graphic it’s not meant to be visually outstanding, as it is usually done in a very short amount of time, covering events that require a tremendous efforts from newsrooms in gathering information and breaking down the facts the most effective way possible, as Marco said to us:
“We’re talking about infographics representing major facts, like earthquakes, tsunamis, plane or train crashes, or simply acts of war, that lean for their most important part on visual narration. Frankly speaking, I don’t love to do them but it’s a good challenge to get rid of one of these beasts at least a couple times per year. Said that, they’re part of my work.”
