It’s not very common for a post that deals usually with old maps, charts, diagrams and infographics, to mention an interactive visualization. But in this case, well open an exception to mention a recent post on Google Maps Mania.

In that post, Keir Clarke introduces the joint efforts of The National Library for Scotland and David Rumsey to scan and georeference the 1896 Ordnance Survey map of London. You can now view the entire 729 sheets of 1:1,056 scale maps overlaid on top of a modern Google Map. Always great to see the combination of vintage cartography with modern day digital tools.
