This week we’re travelling to Lima, Peru, to present you Ivan Ciro Palomino HuamanĂ, infographic designer with more than 10 years of experience and currently the Head of Infographics of the Epensa Group.
He was kind enough to share a bit of his experience with us:
“People call me Ivan and sometimes Ciro. They say that I can create, design and illustrate , perhaps I do it right… but I try to follow my instinct to give harmony to the shapes and colors in the field of information design
Communicating without speaking, showing without pointing out… Design and be yourself … and all that led me to see design in other ways and head towards an infographic design where forms speak for themselves … and sometimes sing for others to see, feel and hear.
I am a graphic designer graduated from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru, currently Head of Infographics Epensa Group ( Peru’s National newspaper company), where I develop infographics on different topics for both daily newspapers and for various magazines of the Group. Most of times, the infographics I design are with illustration that can be freehand or vector illustration. And it can be complex as developing a submarine or as creating a more minimalist boat pixels. With or without complexity, the most important it’s how we get the information to the reader , user or customer . Short , clear and precise.
For two years now, I’ve teaching infographics and illustration at CIBERTEC (Design Institute), where I share my my 10 years of experience with the students of the infographic course. I also do freelance work related to the world of infographics, design and illustration, that is growing in interest by the day.”
