This is Visual Journalism [48]

Sports, science and breaking news graphics, in another exclusive round-up!

January 16, 2014

After last week‘s first pick about the legacy of Eusébio, the Portuguese soccer legend, in a beautiful infographic by Carlos Monteiro (from the award winning newspaper “i”), we open another This is Visual Journalism with a work from that country, and again about soccer.

The subject in hand, this time, was, of course, Cristiano Ronaldo’s second “Ballon d’Or award”, beating Barcelona’s Lionel Messi and Franck Ribery of Bayern Munich. The Real Madrid superstar paid tribute to Eusébio as he was receiving the most valuable individual recognition in soccer, and this infographic by our friend Mário Malhão – a featured Portfolio of the Week here on Visual Loop and a regular presence in these weekly round-ups – provides an overview of the player’s career so far.

In addition, our usual hand-picked list of infographics printed in newspapers and magazines worldwide.

Hope you enjoy it!
