Fábio Abreu

Over 15 years of experience and a lot of talent from Brazil

October 7, 2012

We’re back with another contribution from Visual Loop Brazil, this time to feature the work of Fábio Abreu, an information designer with over 15 years of experience, that we actually had the pleasure to work with in one of our non-commercial partnerships.

At the time, Fábio created a great infographic about Michael Jordan that ended up on the Information is Beautiful Awards gallery. The compliments received there show how talented he is.

He started his career in the Jornal Bahia Hoje, in 1993, as an illustrator, where he stayed for two years, before being invited to join the arts department in the A Notícia newspaper. There, he entered as an illustrator, but soon the interest for information design caught up with him. Of the 16 years he stayed in that newspaper, 15 were dedicated to data visualization.

Now, Fábio works as a freelancer, making regular contributions to Folha de São Paulo, Revista da ESPN and Notícias do Dia, amongs other Brazilian publications. He is also the graphic editor of Revista 21, a magazine distributed within the members of the business association of Joinville, Brazil.

And here is some of his work:
