The US Election 2012. With burgers & fries

The debate on foreign policy as a plate of fries? Campaign spending as burgers? See it here.

In less than a day, the Americans will know if Barack Obama will stay in Office for another 4 years or if Mitt Romney will be the 57th President of the United States. Having the entire world as spectator, television channels and online news portals are covering every possible angle of what is happening during this long day.

Naturally, many visualizations were created about the 2012 election. Only today we already released here the second part of our selection of interactive graphics (part one is here), and our Pinterest board created specifically for the presidential race grows by the day (over 200 infographics already).

But there’s always room for more, especially when it’s made with creativity and…hamburgers & fries. A project by Lisa Rienermann and Anna Lena Schiller with support of Sylke Gruhnwald at nzz, mixes the iconic American fast food meal with data about the 2012 election.

The result is ‘binders full of burgers’:
