Infographics can be art - Jaime Serra's exhibition

Visit the Arts Santa Mónica center in Barcelona until March 23rd for a surprising exhibition.

While the world of data visualization and information design turns its eyes to Pamplona, for another edition of Malofiej, it’s in Barcelona that one of the most interesting events mixing art and visualization.

But why are we talking about art? Infographics, as we hear so often said, are not Art.

True. But they can be, as Jaime Serra, the world’s most influential infographic designers of the last two decades, shows on a weekly basis in his Sunday columns at the Spanish newspaper La Vanguardia – you can read all about it in the exclusive interview he gave us a couple of months ago.

And since last Wednesday (06/03) you can get a deep look at those works at Barcelona’s Arts Santa Mònica gallery.

The exhibition, untitled simply “Infographics, by Jaime Serra”, shows a selection of those visual narratives Serra’s been creating for the past two years, and will be available to the public until March 23.
