We’ve talked about the infographic scene in the Middle East a couple of times, like when the The 1st Persian Infographic Festival took place, or featuring works of information designers of the region such as¬†Amr Elsawy or Maral Pourkazemi. It’s natural to assume that we’ll be seeing more and more projects coming from those countries, and today we bring you a recent blog named¬†Today Infographic, an infographic curation site, but with a special detail that caught our attention: they just post what the founder Saeed Farajnezam¬†calls ‘Photo Infographics”.
Saeed, who also created The first¬†Persian¬†infographic Website about 2 years ago in Tehran, gathered a team consisting of a Graphic designer, Computer Eng, Architect,Photographer and expert in¬†stats and management. We’ve actually showed some works of the Persian Infographic team here, so you’ll have an idea of their work. According to him, they decided to create Today Infographic to showcase examples of¬†creativity and innovation in¬†displaying¬†data and information, mixing photography with charts and numbers.
The use of this combination, however, ¬†is not new, even in newsrooms,¬†particularly¬†after Jaime Serra‘s famous ‘bread infographic‘ that he made in 1997, when he was at the infographic department of the¬†Argentinian¬†daily newspaper Clar√≠n:
We leave you here some other examples of the ‘photo infographics’ featured on Today Infographic:
