The wait was finally over for all of those shortlisted to the 2013 Kantar Information Is Beautiful Awards. The announcement with the best data visualizations, interactive and motion graphics, infographics, and tools, was just published on the website – and it’s worth checking out.
In addition to these categories, special awards were also conceded (Community Award, Student Award, Studio Award, Individual Award and Corporate Award), and the big winner of this year’s edition was Bloomberg’s Billionaires Index visualization, taking the Grand Prize and the Gold medal for best interactive. Also worth mentioning, our friends at Infogr.am, getting the Gold medal for best tool, and some or the interactive works we presented here a couple of weeks ago, when the longlist was published. Great to see that our personal picks are among the works awarded with medals.
Congratulations to all the winners, and we leave you now with the Gold medalists in each of the top categories:
Bloomberg Billionaires Index | Bloomberg Visual Data | Grand Prize and Gold in Interactive
Nobels, no degrees | Giorgia Lupi, Simone Quadri, Gabriele Rossi, Davide Ciuffi, Federica Fragapane, Francesco Majno | Gold in Data Visualization
Global Warning | Derek Kim | Gold in Infographic
