The 25th anniversary of the fall of the Berlin wall and more, in interactive maps

November 12, 2014

Similarly to what happened back in July, with the 100th anniversary of the beginning of WWI, a good number of interesting projects have been published about the 25 years since the fall of the Berlin Wall. Interactive visualizations and maps, as well as print infographics tell the story of one of Europe’s darkest periods in recent years, and in this round up you’ll see a few more, in addition to what we’ve been bringing you for the past couple of weeks – it was just yesterday that we revisited the work of our good friend Carlos Gámez Kindelán, and his latest interactive project was precisely about the Berlin Wall.

In today’s round up we’d also like to call your attention to NOAA’s new interactive storm-surge map that helps U.S. residents see potential flood risks in their neighborhood. It basically shows how far a storm surge would reach, and to what height, in the worst-case scenario of each category of hurricane.

And we have much ore, of course, with interactive maps regarding different topics and regional news. Hope you enjoy it:
