This is Visual Journalism [104]

Special issue with some of the awarded works at the world's top infographic event

March 27, 2015

We are still trying to cope with the awesome experience that was to attend Malofiej 23, and, as we’ve been doing from the past couple of years, we decided to dedicate this edition of “This is Visual Journalism” to the awarded works in the print categories. You can see the full list of winners here (pdf).

This year’s Jury awarded 17 gold medals, 41 silver medals and 73 bronze medals, after going through 1.266 entries submitted by 150 news outlets from 32 countries. In print categories, 131 medals (12 gold, 24 silver and 46 bronze medals) were given to 82 entries, with The Times of Oman (Oman) taking home the Peter Sullivan Award / Best of Show” for their ‘On the ball’ project, that was featured in detail here on Visualoop, a few months ago.

Once again, The National Geographic (USA) won the Miguel Urabayen Award for the best printed map with ‘California Water Shortage’, and Fernando Batista was awarded with a Gold in Portfolio, alongside our good friend Alberto Lucas López, for his body of work over at the South China Morning Post.

But enough talk, and let’s just enjoy some of the awarded projects at this year’s Malofiej:
