[This is a guest post by Jess Nordquist*, about his infographic project Circadian Rhythm]
The Circadian Rhythm project was originally intended to explore the concept of time and how it manifests in our biology. The human lifecycle and, indeed, the body itself, operates on biological clocks that monitor everything from hormone release, to organ function to cycles of sleep and awake.
I studied and compared the processes that occur during a 24-hour time period to an average adult, teenager and infant, and how strongly those processes are influenced by environmental changes, both sudden (jet lag) and gradual (seasons).
