We are delighted to announce that last night in London, at the Kantar Information is Beautiful Awards 2015 ceremony, Visualoop.com took home the Bronze in the Dataviz Website category. The other two awarded websites were Natah Yau’s Flowing Data (Silver) and our friend Andy Kirk’s Visualizing Data (Gold), with an Honorable Mention being attributed to Manuel Lima’s VisualComplexity.
This award culminates a year in which we made the jump from being a blog to become a digital environment more focused on the amazing work being done by the community that, year after year, gathered together around Visualoop.com. With the help of the folks at Infogr.am, we launched our new gallery in July, and now feature over 2000 fantastic infographics and visualizations from more than two hundred worldwide recognized designers and companies.
Therefore, our first and most important thank you goes to all of our members and readers out there, for all the time spent sharing their works, writing guest posts, answering questions for interviews, and for all the likes, shares, comments on social media. Thanks to you, it has been an inspiring five-year journey, since our little Tumblr blog.
To be chosen as one of the top three websites by such an amazing panel of juries (1, 2, 3, 4, 5), in a category that included some of our (everyone’s?) all-time favorites, true references in the field for years, is something beyond humbling. And, of course, a huge boost to keep us going!
Thank you for all the support, and don’t forget to meet the 2015 Kantar Information is Beautiful Awards winners in all the other categories – including illustrious members of our community, like Sara Piccolomini (Gold in Student), Alberto Lucas Lopez (Silver in Data Visualization), Jan Willem Tulp (Silver in Motion Infographic), as well as Accurat (Gold in Commercial Studio), the interactive team at the Berliner Morgenpost (Gold in Best Team) and CleverFranke (Gold in Commercial Client Project).
Congratulations to all.
