Our journey into the world of visual journalism and infographic design led us to Mexico, once again. We’ve had the pleasure to feature some amazing visual journalists from this country – many of which are in our own gallery – , and today we’d like to introduce you to the work of another experienced, talented, award-winning designer, Rodolfo Larios López.
Rodolfo’s career begun in 2000, after completing, the year before, his academic studies in Graphic Design at the Universidad del Noroeste, in Hermosillo, Sonora. He started at the El Imparcial newspaper, in charge of the design of the Entertainment section, and in 2003, a huge change: the opportunity to work at The Post & Courier, in Charleston, South Carolina, where he stayed for six years as part of the design team responsible for sections such as Arts & Travel, Home & Garden, Ink, among others.
Returning to his hometown in Mexico, in 2009, Rodolfo begins to work at the local daily Expreso, once again in the Entertainment section, and in 2011 he takes on an offer to work for the regional Government of Sonora, creating a monthly publication and designing political ads and campaign material.
Since 2015, he is back at El Imparcial, now as Co-Editor of Graphics in the “spectacles” section, and during all this time he was involved in several award-winning projects, with recognitions conceded by the Society for News Design, the South Carolina Press Association, the Association of Food Journalists, among other entities.
