Sérgio Peçanha, do The New York Times, estará no INFOLIDE 2013
Sergio Peçanha, do The New York Times, estará no INFOLIDE 2013

Ele inventou o D3.

Há pouco tempo vi e gostei de “Happy People: A year in the Taiga“, do Werner Herzog.

Meu favorito é “Fast, cheap and out of control.”

  3. cartierlovejesduas You sound ridiculous. Pebbles wasn’t even Toni Braxton’s manager and therefore had nothing to do with her. Maybe you need to face the facts that you have nothing to go on other than your TLC bias and a biopic of allegations. Again, if there was a legal precedent for TLC being cheated, why did LaFace and Arista settle with Pebbitone for millions….notice it wasn’t the other way around. Why let the facts get in the way of your know nothing rants though.

  4. cartierlovejesduas As a teacher for 32 years, I can attest to many changes in the field of education. However, the most troubling is how administrators abuse their power. The general public believes it is difficult to fire a teacher. Not true. Today, few school districts in Texas offer tenure to teachers. Contracts are given on a one-year basis because of the financial crunch so School Districts can eliminate program and teachers. The real ‘fat’ in school district budgets come often from the layers of administration. While class sizes often grow, field trips are eliminated and additional duties are dumped on teachers, administrators remain unscathed. In the schools where I currently teach, Deans of Instruction have the main responsibility of worrying about standardized testing yet the school also has a testing coordinator. Each campus has a math and science specialist who monitors needs of math and science teachers, yet they plan as a team and each are highly qualified. Assistant principals continue to address the students written up but if a teacher addresses concerns from too many or the wrong student, then the teacher is the bad guy. And God help us if the teacher use written documentation since what is right or needed doesn’t matter. The problem is the teacher writes too much! But most importantly, these administrators are simply henchmen for the principal. Growth plans are rampant and often without merit. Teachers tattle on other teachers almost like a badge of honor as the chosen one. Things like “I saw his head nod off or eyes shut (after being up with a sick child all night and teaching all day) during the faculty meeting,” which then sets the bully of a principal on the trail of the sleepy employee. Behind closed doors, principals say things that most normal functioning adults would never say to one another,”No one here likes you” (in a school of 100-200 staff members some may not eve know the person!), “I would never allow my own child to have you as a teacher!” or “You have no passion when you teach!” (in both cases the principal has never been in those teachers’ classrooms!) For teachers who are bound geographically to a district due to partners’ jobs, homes, children in school, it is difficult to just resign. Some have little experience and fear poor references, and some just feel embarrassed and alone and continue to take the abuse. No one ever asks the teachers about their administrators, no one collects data and acts upon it if there is a high turnover rate in a school. The crafty administrator uses his or her time and resources to build a case or has their own agenda (what district wants to admonish a minority administrator?).

  11. There is an article in Psychology today that talks about growing your own vegetables. In the article it states; “The soil is a rich repositiory of microbes and other organisms with which we’ve coexisted for the beginning. ….it looks increasingly like ingesting components of the soil itself might be as critical to human health as the very finest fruits and veggies.” It goes on to state the research and talks about how the “Mycobacteria” stimulate the immune system and boost serotonin levels in the brains of mice.
